I don't know, It was knockin when I got it (Monday). Perhaps I should have passed on this one but the price was good, and delivery was free ;-) Clarence, I know, but my 8 year old named him er.. her. I'll try to renegotiate the name.

Back to the problem at hand. Just from using a 3 foot copper pipe, it seemed to me that the sound was around or near the front, perhaps as narrowed down to the second cylinder from the front. The knock is much less when warm. I don't feel or sense any out of tractor ordinary vibrations. Keep in mind my cub is the only other tractor I have to compare to.

I bought the caps to disconnect the loader. I plan to do that tonight. This weekend I figure I'll attempt the following:

1) I'll attempt to verify the specific cyclinder by removing one spark plug wire at a time.
2) If it _is_ a particular cylinder, I'll drop the pan for inspection (and post photos), as well as pull the valve cover and post photos.

Is there anything I should or should not do ?

-MD

Except for last fourth of July's Old Gold show in Springfield, Illinois, I don't remember when it was so hot. Nevertheless, the heat didn't keep vendors and visitors alike from enjoying the third annual Country Day's Event. Jane Elliott said the event was originally a one man show. "Barry Seiler, owner of Country Town Farm Supply store used to invite people up to the Johne Deere store. He would give hats and a free meal for everyone that brings a tractor." Elliott said while this ... [Read Article]
