I wasn't aware that the gas pistons were different. That's good to know. The sad part is that this engine was rebuilt over 20 years ago and became my project years later after engine was froze. Had to put a single piston and sleeve in from another stock engine. So now I got one cylinder that is 3 3/4" and the rest are 4". But I don't think a guy would ever know unless he tore the engine down. The crank may be a shade off balance, but with those tuff ball bearing mains, I don't beleive it will ever create a problem. Seems to run good even on a pull. Oh well, I fixed it up for show and to have fun with and not to be perfect. But I am sure that no problems will be caused even if a guy used it hard. I just figured a guy might as well wear out those other 3 cylinders before spending the big bucks to get a new set of 4 sleeves and pistons. I cracked the sleeve that the piston was froze in trying to get the piston out. The sleeve was pitted so probably wouldn't of made much difference even if I wouldn't of cracked it. The crack was below the bottom of piston swing (well there was a chunk off the bottom too) but I was scared the crack would of grown even if I could of worked out the pitting problem. Amazing what kind of ideas you come up with wrenching. You can get real creative sometimes.
