Hi, I went through this same thing about 5 years ago and decided to cash rent my ground. I got more money and didn't have to pay the expense of controlling the weeds. I was also told that I had to keep my fences up so the neighbors livestock would stay out. I found out what it was going to cost for fence, that was an attention getter.

I did like the idea of giving the ground a rest but couldn't afford it.

A lot of CRP ground in my area is being over run by Canadian thistle. I don't know if they are enforcing it or not, but the FSA rules say that owner must control the weeds.
