I have heard that compression checks below 60 psi in a car or truck motor are nearing the point where it might not even fire. I would think that for comparison purposes a good battery and starter would create a higher compression psi than hand cranking. A big consideration is how even in psi the different cylinders are. The recommendation is that all of the cylinders are within 10% of each other. Check the compression with the cylinders dry and then check them with a few squirts of motor oil in them. If an increase is shown this indicates weak rings. Oil will seal the rings and will not do such a good job of sealing the valves. If you had a compression tester with the rubber hose that screwed into the spark plug hole you might even pull the tractor in gear with the clutch engaged to get a more accurate compression test.
