The first original wide front made by IH for H and M tractors with ty-rods out front could be installed two ways, giving two different wheel bases. There was a heavy steel plate used in one application. With the Supers came a change, putting ty-rods behind axle. I have never seen that one installed as longer wheel base, but suspect it could be done without a lot of work.

As so many of the older Farmalls were sold with narrow front there became a large after market trade. There were several manufacturers of these.
