Dear Chuck: I too have an IH240-U with bad ( manual) steering. I love the tractor otherwise. I haven't got the nerve yet to tear into it. Have you looked into replacing the worm gear, etc? Hope someone gives you a good answer. I'll be watching for other messages. Please post if you decide what to do. Thanks. Jim
