Here in central KY we've had a lot of rain and a lot of ice. I was at work the night it started, we were out several times for "tree limb in power line" calls. About 0400 in the morning we were on our way back to the station when a substation blew on the other side of town. A blue-green ball of fire lit up the entire sky over Winchester, followed by another.

Later that morning we were at a trailer park on a transformer fire call. It sounded like a firing range with all the limbs breaking and falling. We did better than a lot of places around here, I think our state has been declared a disaster area.
