Depends how old your H is, the older ones had a gen with a cut out and later ones had a regulator.
If your switch has four postions, Low charge, high
charge, dim lights and bright lights along with a working rear light.
The two wires, one went to the cut out and one to the F terminal on the gen.
On switch end wire from cut out went to the ampmeter & other from F terminal went to the resistor. Giving you H/L charging.
Working on a H last week with same system.
