It sounds to me like the acceleration well in the carburetor is not doing its job.
Cleaning or rebuilding a carb takes time and care.

Be sure to remove ALL jets & plugs to completely clean the carb body. Carefully look at the main jet and be sure all tiny holes are clear.

Since the carburetor does'nt have an accelerator pump like older cars & trucks. it depends on an extra temporary fuel supply in that well.

A service manual will have an exploded view to show what I am referring to.
