No. The tires remain on the tractor. The pickers are mounted on the tractor and the wheels are moved outward on the axles to make room for the picker. I think 88" is the proper tread width. Stalk deflectors mount on the picker ahead of the rear tractor wheels and add a little width. These are either a sheet metal shield about as long as the snapping rolls, or a wooden slat about 2"X2"X5' that keeps standing corn from getting run over.
