I forgot to mention before, 20years ago a friend of mine (when he was 16 years old) had a problem with this and his dad owned a machine shop and made a large mailbox out of steel plate, which was welded onto thick steel tubing, concreted into the ground. The problem that he had was kids running it over with the car, not the baseball bat. One night a few months after the heavy steel box went up some kid tryed to run it over and ripped off his right front fender.
