Weld a steel plate on each side of it. Ours is off the road(the mail person turns around in our drive), so we don't have to worry about vandals. The mail lady has hit it before, though. Ours sits on top of a big crankshaft out of a cummins. It has a couple yards of concrete underneath it, too.
