Been there, done that. I had a difficult time getting the cover off and was so glad when I finally did get it off that I forgot to look at how the band was installed. Then I had to replace the seal and almost didn't get that out (came out in about 5 pieces, it was really stuck in there). When I started to reassemble everything, I had to look at the band and the rest of the assembly very carefully for about 10 minutes to figure out how to get it back together right. I finally got it installed and adjusted and now the left brake works almost as well as the right one! Take your time. If you aren't making any progress, stop, take some time out and maybe make a little shim stock. :o) Then come back and look at it a while before continuing. It will come to you if you just imagine how the parts work with each other. BTW, my I&T manual was the thing that helped me figure it out. Just look carefully at FIG. IH 466 on page 73. That's what finally gave me the clue I needed.
