You're right--I'm in Northern NY and we have a few people that make a decent living doing horse logging in high-value stands such as Cherry. Horses don't rip the ground up and leave big ruts when you're only taking a few trees out of an area. Nice to see that horses still have their place, even in today's mechanized world.
