To quote from the Super C Operator's Manual, "The rear wheels...have demoutable steel rims for 8-36, 9-36 or 10-36 four-ply tractor-type, agricultural-tread tires as ordered with the tractor." International Harvester advertised the oversized wheels as having additional traction, with more surface area of the tire in contact with the ground compared to a smaller diameter tire, "More Pull Power."
