Oil Pressure 424 gas

Presently own a 424 utility with a c-146 gas engine, the oil light comes on when at idle, which has been happening for some time, but would go out when engine RPM was increased. Last nite the oil light would come on even when engine was at 2000 rpm, but would not stay on. Also the light would be real bright then would get dim, with out any change in engine rpm. Is this a quirk with this particular tractor? Maybe an oil pump? The motor runs very well, with no loud noises, and has never used any oil. I have 10-30 oil in the motor right now.
