If the battery is up and all the wiring is good, a click but no crank will also indicate the starter pinion is stuck in the flywheel ring gear (A common occurrance in Farmalls with worn starters and ring gears). If the tractor is on hard ground, put the transmission in 5th gear and try rocking it back and forth a bit (make sure the ignition is OFF!!). If you hear a clunk and see the fan move at all, you've unjammed it. If you cannot rock the tractor, simply loosen several turns the (3) capscrews holding the starter to the flywheel housing, then pull back on the starter. If the pinion is jammed you will feel/hear when it disengages. Finally tighten the screws back up and try the starter again.
