Rick, I have a John Deere 410 round baler that makes a 4 foot, 850lb bale. It takes a 40 hp tractor to run it. Another consideration is weight. The 410 weighs 3000lbs, plus another 850lbs for the bale. If you are in hilly country, you have almost 2 tons of free-wheeling weight pushing you around. Also, I am not sure about other balers, but the 410 requires dual remotes on the tractor. You can rig up a dual selector valve, but it is more $$$. Another consideration. I have a 1650 Oliver to pull the baler. I have smaller tractors that have enough power on the PTO, but my primary concern is holding it on the hills. Good luck, Scott
