As far as the Voltage Regulator, its not so much the brand you get BUTTTTTTTT it (same as Generator) needs to for be a Class A charging system as opposed to a Class B like some older Ford products used. The people who advise to get a Delco arent all that far off, they are thinking get a Delco which many Class A systems used as opposed to say an Autolite which maybe some Fords used. The terms Delco and Class A often go together.......Also the VR needs to be compatible with your ground, be it Pos or Neg. Some VR"s will work at either ground, some are labeled specifically for Pos or Neg ground...
