There are a couple of factors that I think explain eBay prices a bit. 1. If you've sold stuff there and used a Paypal account - you have all this money off to the side, you know. Your wife never sees it, it's like funny money. If you buy something using your Paypal fund, no cash comes out of the bank, and nothing shows up on a credit card. Makes you a bit more loose in spending, I think. 2. I've sold things on eBay that have gone for way more than I thought they would. Reason is two or three people got into a war over it. A "mine's bigger than yours" contest. My guess is the guy with the air cleaner started off a bit high - so he's not likely to see any bidding wars - and maybe no bids at all. If that's the case, he's flushed 5 to 8 bucks in fees and made eBay richer. Maybe the best game is to buy more eBay stock and watch it get bid up. Steve
