I pulled and rebuilt the engine in my 600 without removing the fuel tank. On the 600/650 to remove the fuel tank you also have to remove all the hydraulics and cowl that attaches to both fenders and thats a real job. I drained the fuel tank and blocked it just high enough to remove the front tank support then it was easy to remove the clutch/fly wheel cover. I thought it was pretty easy, at least easier than removing the cowl and all the hydratouch hardware.
