Last year we rented pasture to a friend with SHEEP. Now, I've been around cattle all my life, so I know all the precautions, and my 8 yr old son and I went out to check the pond. As we were walking back to the corral, I was commenting to my son how the renter had mentioned that that ram was kinda mean, so stay clear of him. As I was saying this, we walked about 10' around the ram who didn't even seem to notice us. I am used to bulls "putting their head down" and coming at you. I never even heard that ram take a step! He planted his head (no horns)in my A$$ and launched me about 6' in the air! I landed flat on my back, and I sat up and looked to see him causally walking away! I wasn't injured except for a bruised behind, and I thank God that he chose me instead of my son. Those wooly farm animal can NOT be trusted, and they are FAST!!!
