I know on other types of belt drives such as large riding mowers, The pulleys are designed to work with some misalignment. I don't know if your pulley's ever had pulley guides on them originally, But if it was me, I would make some and put them on. They are just a welded on rod or a bolt with 2 lock nuts or L shaped flat piece of metal bolted on that fits within about 1/8 inch of the pulley that keeps the belt from jumping no matter how loose the belt is. It has to be mounted near where the belt enters the pulley during rotation, But you can put more. Ray in PA.
