I would rather have most of the weight on the trailer. That way you can run the truck with just the right amount of weight on the bumper or receiver (or on the bed if you have a goose neck). Adding weight to the bed makes the rear squat more, which is not good for handling--I suppose this is where overload springs or air bags would be necessary. Lacking those, put most of the weight on the trailer.
