All I do (in addition to remebering the tractors we had on the farm as a kid) is read the specs in my H and M operators manuals -- 10-38, 11-38 standard with other widths available. Remember there is no difference in a "rim sized" tire and the newer designation. Same tire, one expressed as tread width and one as cross section. I agree that the tire that is advertised is likely a 38 inch if it is for an H or an M. The HV and MV did have 36 inch tires.
