Geoff, Your front seal is just a press fit, take the front cover off and support the cover with some 4x4's underneath and use a screwdriver and a hammer and drive the seal out from the front, clean the inside of the cover good, and then carefully drive the new seal in from the back of the cover, when I install mine, after they are drove in, i use some Indian head, head gasket sealer on the back side, use the sealer on the metal surface of the cover to the metal surface of the seal.
