I have Champion D23s in my SMTA. I had trouble when I first got it running with plugs fouling. It wasn't the fault of the plugs turned out to be a loose cam gear but the D23s worked fine in it and didn't seem to foul. They are built different than other brands that supposedly cross over to the same plug. They are also more expensive. The long base on the plug seems to make a difference. When I worked for a JD dealer we used those a lot on the old JD As and Bs. I am not necessarily a fan of Champion plugs but I have also never found another brand that has an identical plug to the D23
