Super M oil

I recently purchased a 1953 Super M with extremely sludgy dirty motor oil. It is gonna take a lot of oil changes to get it cleaned out. An old mechanic told me to put diesel fuel in the crankcase and run her a few minutes on low idle only. Anyone ever tried this?
