If your transmission cover has the notch you probably need the early seat. Out here in upstate NY nobody knows red any better than Deacon Dick Stoyell. I know that he has the correct seat for the early H&M. You can reach him at (315) 497-3745 or at MR IH @web tv. He is "retired" now so that he is only working part time on antique tractors; at the rate of about seventy hours per week. It may take a day or so for him to get back to you.
