I have not done this, so could be wrong, but it seems you could take the fittings to NAPA or somewhere and get the correct tap. If the threads are to far gone to save, you might have to drill the hole larger and install a larger fitting that still reduces to the size of your needle. Hopefully you can avoid buying a new carb$$.
