I know of a local guy in my area that has a salvage parts buisness. He junks out John Deere tractors. He works on them moreless 1 at a time. When he gets them he totally disassembles them and catologs the sellable parts and puts them on shelves. He doesn't have no bone yard. Everything that he has that is good enough to sell is on the shelf and anything else gets scrapped. He runs a very nice buisness. He sells alot of parts over the internet and ships stuff out on U.P.S. pretty much every day. He has got a heck of a buisness. He sticks with a little newer stuff, like the 4020 series and newer. I think a set up like this with I.H.C. parts would really fly even if you were into a little bit older tractors. The new replacement parts probably wouldn't be as much profit becuase you would have to buy them new and sell them for small mark up to stay competitive. There would be a demand however if you had a big invatory becuase when buying new replacement parts you pretty much have to get them here and there. If you marked stuff up to high your customers would go the other rout and find the new parts themselves. Its a really good idea but I believe there would be a bigger profit margin in the selling of used parts simply becuase you can accumulate the parts cheaper but on the other hand you would probably have larger invatory of non-selling parts if you were in used parts.
