A block from a B or even a C will work. If a C is used you will need to cover the opening where the HY pump goes. Check the replacement block carefull and get some kind of guarantee so you dont get taken as from reading your post you dont sound to familiar with the block and there are lots of crocks that like to take your money and run. Be carefull
