Certainly makes good sence what you are saying. Coil really being nothing more than a transformer, should work either way. I have changed to comply with your reasoning. I thank you for your input.

I have been out toying a bit with it this am and have discovered I have drain on battery soon as I couple it up, switch off. Pulled the starter off and discovered someone has decided to dispence with the two plastic sheilds within the starter switch. Still not certain that is cause as once switch is on starter, quite hard to tell if terminals are making contact with switch body.
