I have a WD-9. It came with the hand crank stuck in the front of the tractor like it was ready to be cranked. So I too wondered where it was to be stored. I noticed what at first looked like to me was a clip for a hose or wire harness on the engine below and to the front of the belt pulley. It wasn't until I saw a Super WD-9 in MN with the crank stored there that I realized the clip was for the crank.
