Wayne's on target with the dwell information. And our buddy down the list aways is probably correct in saying that IH didn't bother to specify a dwell reading. He wasn't very tactful in the way he said it, however.... Dwell meters weren't all that common back in the '40s, and that type of distributor is not one of the easiest to set using a dwell meter. It is however, a useful tool for checking to see if your skills with a feeler gauge are as good as they used to be. For those not used to using a feeler gauge, remember to keep it CLEAN when setting the points.
