My brother bought an old 69 stepside that was rusted out pretty bad for 1500
You could go to www.nada.com and get an idea of what that old classic may be worth in your area.
If it was me i'd buy it and stuff a big block under the hood, put on my elmer fudd hat and head out to the local high when the kids get out of class and race their branny new 5.0's that daddy bought em. Just a thought.
