The D-310 was in late 706's, all 756 diesels, and late 686's. The D-358 was in all 826 diesels, all 786's, late 886's, all 3088's, and all 3288's. Don't forget the three and four cylinder German diesels, there was a D-206 four cylinder, which was just the four cylinder version of the D-310, I think that engine was in the 584. There was also the D-179 three cylinder, and the D-239 four cylinder, which were the three and four cylinder versions of the D-358. I can't think of where you would find a D-179, but the D-239 was found in the 544, 574, and in a couple of those 84 series tractors. The things that made this engine so good are fuel economy and the fact that they last FOREVER. The only IH engines that outlast them are the 361 and 407. But like the other guys say, the German diesels don't quite torque like the 300 and 400 series (312, 360, 414, 436, and 466).
