On a MH 44 with a stuck steering wheel, I had sucess tapping two 1/4 inch holes in the center wheel hub and then used a regular steering wheel puller to get it off. The steering shaft was hollow, so I cut a rod to the proper length and slipped it into the hollow shaft until it bottomed out; then used it to apply the puller force to, thus not ruining the shaft threads. Pulled it right off.
