Farmall Super H Won't Charge

My 1953 Farmall Super H won't charge. I put on a new generator and wires, the battery is good. It will run fine for awhile, it starts fine when the battery is freshly charged. I might work the tractor on and off for 8 hours and then the battery goes dead. HELP! I am an amateur mechanic and I have gone from owning one 1951 Farmall Cub and have now added the Super H and I just bought a 1954 Farmall Super C in August. These red tractors are addictive. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks, Farmer Dan
