Geoffrey- Pass it by and keep on looking; you should be able to find a decent running C or Super C for $1000-$1500 depending on condition. You'll drop $1500 in that boneyard C quicker than a minute and still have some things left to do. One of the things I've learned the hard way from my experiences with this addiction: you are better off paying more up front for a better machine than buying a cheap beater and thinking that you can come up with a good tractor easily and cheaply. I have a Super C and it is my favorite tractor; I bought it in running condition in 1985 and have used it arond by place for 17 years. Last summer, we had to do an engine job, new clutch and a lot of the usual things. But because it was a runner, I got 17 trouble free years out of it. If you are looking, go for a Super C with Fast Hitch because you can get an after market three point for it if you want to. My $02 based on my experiences and my lightened check book.
