I dont see why not. The only issue with that idea is lifting the lift all off and on the platform. My back would start crying just at the thought. The treaded rod idea seems to be the most cost effective idea. Just get 4 rods long enough to get the liftall to the floor. I built my rig because I needed it to pull my well pump. Worked real good for that. My well is 75+ feet dowm and thats alot O pipe. I used the 2 come alongs with some chain. I pulled one up then hooked the next one low. repeated quite a few times untill I got to the pump.
