The first Farmall As were built in 1939. If you can find a serial number, the year can be determined. Serial number plate is on the inside of the seat support. Also the year built can be determined from the casting codes cast into all the major castings. Each casting has a code such as 8-27-I. The letters indicate the year. "I" was for 1939 going up to "Z" in 1954. They started in 1931 with "A" Sometimes the number of the year was used instead of the letters. Farmall A tractors are not rare at all. Somewhere around 200,000 were produced from 1939 to 1947. In 1948, the essentially similar Super A came out. It has hydraulic lift. If you have a working exhaust lift that is rare, because there are not many of those left that are working.
