When you are out shopping for that new battery, add to the list a new heavy duty set of battery cables. That 6 volt system needs cables about half inch in diameter. I have started those old gas Farmalls many times 15 to 25 below 0 and there was no block heaters in those days. Once in my life I started a 6 volt Farmall 300 at 40 below 0. The tractor started completely one its own with no assists. I average 8 years on a battery and maybe 5 on a set of cables. Bad cables have saused a lot of good batteries to get tossed out.
