You know, that's a good question. I'm an old guy and remember when the cast shift knobs came on those WW11 tractors, but I have to admit I've never seen one of them removed. Removal of the rubber knob leaves just the end of the shifting lever slightly rounded off, so maybe the cast knob can te knocked off leaving the same thing. Has anyone removed one of these knobs, is there any reason to remove one other than to replace it with the rubber version?
