Kelly, I would have to agree with kjm, the shut off valve on the bottom of the tank is a needle valve and the needle can get a grove worn in it. This makes it fell like it's closed when it's actually still cracked a little open allowing fuel to leak past. By the way my SMTA will go all day on a part of a tank of gas, better than the 400.
