I replaced the upper & lower bushings in my SMTA last winter. After a hour of swearing, busted knuckles and what not I called my CIH service manager who suggested using a sawzall to cut them on one side. After cutting they practically fall out but as William said be sure to cut only the bushing. It's almost as hard a job to get them in. After ruining one bushing I called the s.m who once again came to the rescue and loaned me his bushing drivers. They are such a handy tool that I went out and bought my own set.
