If everything is in good working order, it will not build up excessive heat, unless you allow a mounted implement to strike the bottom of the tractor such that the lift arms can't complete their cycle. Did you fill the system with the lift arms in the retracted (rearward) position? I think that would prevent a pressure buildup during use. Al

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
