My H had a toolbox mounted on the left front frame rail. I don't know if it was original or not, all that remains is the part bolted to the frame. I think the lack of toolboxes on old tractors is due to the tendancy of farmers to pile wrenches, hammers, chains, rags, hitch pins, rocks, arrowheads, and anything else they could find into it. They were overloaded from weight, the rags, gloves, etc... held water, and sooner or later they rotted off.
