what stage SMD

I bought a SMD the other day and I'm a little confused about it being a stage 1 or 2, it has the battery under the seat but it has a belly pump with christmas tree. The serial # is f28234 J which I think means its a 53 model, also should it have 2 batteries and if so where does the 2nd one go? Thanks
