Ray is correct. The pump runs all the time that the clutch is engaged anyway. It circulates internally. When you pull the activating rod, it sends oil to the pressure ports and develops pressure if there is a cylinder there. If you have a two way valve with return to the fill port, it just cirulates back that way with no pressure until you activate the two way valve. Using the two way valve should make no difference on the life of the pump.
